Lake Street Bar
About This Spot
Stepping into Lake Street Bar, you’re greeted by a warmly unpretentious vibe that feels like a familiar pause during a busy Brooklyn day. The space hums with a steady, easy rhythm — neither too loud nor too quiet — making it a natural spot to linger whether you’re unwinding solo or catching up with friends. The partially covered back patio invites you to settle in and soak up the neighborhood’s laid-back energy, a quiet refuge with room to breathe and a view to savor.
Here, the spirit of the Midwest subtly weaves through the bartop stories and wall art, casting a cozy, welcoming glow over the room. It’s not a bar made by New Yorkers or for New Yorkers, but it serves as a crossroads where familiar Midwestern comforts meet Brooklyn’s eclectic pulse. There’s a casual friendliness in the air, the kind where you might find yourself swapping a laugh over a well-crafted Bloody Mary, a crisp Aperol Spritz, or perhaps a frostier moment with a frozen margarita as the weather warms. The drink lineup offers more than just choices — it invites you into a rhythm of ritual and relaxation, with a thoughtful nod to draft beers and cocktails that resonate with local and out-of-town palates alike.
Lake Street might be the kind of bar you stumble into when the day calls for a good game on TV or an easy conversation without artifice. It feels genuine, less polished but no less inviting. There's an approachable, down-to-earth quality that makes it a comfortable backdrop for those who appreciate a bar with character — whether you’re nursing a cider or celebrating over a round of jello shots. The mix of familiar brews and unique touches — like the occasional Canadian import or a beerback alongside a savory tater tot — colors the experience with subtle surprises.
In essence, this isn’t a place chasing trends or busy trying to be anything other than itself. Instead, it’s a quietly steady companion in the neighborhood’s fabric — offering a space that’s at once modest and memorable, where ease and a splash of Midwestern heart come standard with every visit.

Kind of seems like a bar made for midwestern transplants but it’s one of the few places that serves Canadian beer so it gets a plus for that. Service is nice enough and the space itself is decent. Just because it’s not a bar by New Yorkers and for New Yorkers doesn’t mean it can’t be decent. There are better spots in the neighborhood but the reality is the location is very convenient, prices are okay, and the crowds are fine. More like 3.5 stars but whatever. Live and let live a little.

Great bar with a partially covered back patio (can probably fit about 20ish people). Jello shots, affordable draft lager, and fun frozen margs once it warms up. It’s an easy place to pop in and catch a game or just sit for a while. Skol!

Great Midwestern bar with high quality artwork! Do you love a beer-back with your bloody Mary? Do you love saber-tooth tiger paintings? That’s right! Ask Eric, one of the owners, for his tatertot recipe.

Great place for Sunday football, especially if you’re from the Midwest!

This a great dive bar with good cocktails and delicious jello shots.
